Notata is built to be a private record of your life, not a platform.
No account, no cloud sync
All data — moments, trips, people, your lifeline — is stored locally on your device. There is no sign-up, and nothing is synced to a server, because there is no server holding your data.
Photos stay in your library
Photos are referenced via permanent iOS Photos library links, not copied into a separate database or uploaded anywhere.
Location is used, not stored elsewhere
Location is read only at the moment you mark an event, or when scanning your camera roll to suggest trips — that scan runs entirely on-device and nothing about your photos or their locations is uploaded during it.
Sharing is deliberate, not automatic
Sharing a moment generates a card image you choose to send — via Messages, WhatsApp, email, or any other target you pick. Recipients don't need the app, and nothing is shared unless you explicitly tap Share.
You control your backup
Export a full backup of your data as a JSON file whenever you want, and restore from it on any device. Notata never leaves your data anywhere you didn't choose to put it.
The only thing that ever leaves your device
Optional feedback you choose to send by email. That's it.
